Alberta Watercraft Inspections
Help keep aquatic invasive species out of Alberta. Starting June 1, anyone transporting a watercraft across Alberta's eastern or southern borders must complete an inspection within 7 days, or before entering a waterbody.
Vehicles transporting a watercraft must stop when passing an open inspection station. If the nearest inspection station is closed, the watercraft must be inspected before launching. Bypassing an open inspection station while transporting a watercraft is a violation of the Fisheries (Alberta) Act and may result in a $4,200 fine. Watercraft must have drain plugs pulled while being transported; failure to do so may result in a $600 fine.
Hours of operation vary by inspection station. For more information and for operational hours, visit www.alberta.ca/watercraftinspections.
